What a joy it was to reconnect with Browne Academy alumni, alumni parents, and former faculty and staff at this weekend’s Alumni Reunion!

Throughout the evening, we heard countless stories of our Bruins behaving boldly, leading with purpose, and making an impact in their communities and beyond. We couldn’t be prouder of all you’ve accomplished.

A special thank-you to Hannah Gomez ’11 for organizing such a fantastic event, Jeremy Jackson ’11 and DiasPOURa for the incredible craft cocktails, and Mykaila Walters ’14 for the outstanding food spread. Your generosity and hard work made the celebration truly memorable.

What an incredible afternoon celebrating Peggy Otey and her 12 remarkable years as Head of School at Browne Academy. Surrounded by colleagues, families, friends, and former students, we reflected on the countless lives she has touched through her leadership, compassion, and dedication.

Thank you, Mrs. Otey, for the countless ways you have shaped Browne and the people in it. Thank you for your steady leadership, your generous spirit, and the love you poured into this school every single day. Browne is better because we knew you, and the legacy you leave behind will carry forward in every student you have championed and every teacher you have supported.

This is not goodbye. We can't wait for the next story time. See you later, Mrs. Otey.

For 6 consecutive years, Browne Academy has had students recognized in the national C-SPAN StudentCam competition. This morning, C-SPAN Education's Zach Lowe, Virginia Delegate Garrett McGuire, Fairfax Supervisor Rodney Lusk, and Cox Communications' Kathryn Faulk came to our gym to honor 8th grader Maddox Schutter.

Maddox earned national recognition for his documentary Is Gerrymandering Going to Affect Your Vote? — a film that examines how gerrymandering shapes political representation and who really has a voice in our democracy. Congratulations to our Bruins.

Eid Mubarak to our students, families, and colleagues observing Eid al-Adha.

Eid al-Adha, the "Festival of Sacrifice," is one of the two major Islamic holidays and marks the culmination of Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca. It is celebrated with morning prayers, time with family and community, and acts of generosity and charity toward those in need.

“It is YOUR difference that makes you amazing.” Those words from Kyren Gyrel set the tone as our middle school diversity committee gathered for a closing breakfast and one final safe space. Thank you to Ms. Wright and Ms. Schutter for spearheading this inaugural committee and creating a space where students could reflect, learn, and be themselves.
