Treasure Box 🌟: I scorched the DFW looking for the viral squishy dumplings. It was a labor of love, and honestly, I was fine with that because I absolutely love my Carpe kids.
I still remember the teachers and administrators who impacted my life. They stood out because of the compassion, patience, and kindness they showed me. Those relationships didn’t end when I left their classrooms either. As I got older, they showed up for graduations, milestones, and special moments years later.
That’s something I carry with me now. I try to be intentional in the way I care for these kids and their education because I understand I’m a part of their childhood. The impact they walk away with will be shaped by the intention I show them every day. I care for them with their future — and hopefully my small place in it — in mind.

After a combined nine hours, Carpe conquered the world… well, we built a globe. 🌎 😆
What looked like pure fun turned into a project that really stretched them. It was detailed, sometimes tedious, and required patience, focus, and teamwork the whole way through.
We wrapped up this year’s geography unit by building something they can actually use and and continue to learn from.✨

CDLC is centered around partnership, not possession. We don’t own your child or their education.
We focus on partnering with families: the business owner juggling demands, the family with littles who need more attention, the family that simply wants the function of a school setting without the government involvement and testing, or the family that wants consistent community without making a million different stops.
CDLC is here for you. Our summer bridge is open, ready for you to get the journey started now.

The kids have been obsessed with Tamagotchis, which warms my millennial heart. So what better way to seal in their interest than with Tamagotchi themed....EVERYTHING.
We prioritize their interests.
We’re not just partnering with families. We’re partnering with the learners themselves to make sure their love for learning never fades.
Enrollment is now open for our Summer bridge program and for the 2026-2027 school year! This is a fantastic opportunity for your homeschooler to dive deeper into hands-on experiences, expanding their knowledge and creativity in a supportive environment. Let’s ignite their future together.

We’ve been making space for current events in a way that feels right for them—age appropriate and thoughtful.
In a world where quick clips and constant scrolling can take over, we’re teaching them to slow down and actually pay attention. To ask questions. To understand what’s happening around them, not just react to it.
It’s not about overwhelming them with the world, but helping them make sense of it, little by little.
We’re building the habit of staying present, thinking critically, and leaning into the world around us.

Today, our learners performed the classic baking soda and vinegar balloon experiment to demonstrate the chemical reaction that produces gas in a visual and engaging way.
As their eyes were locked in on the balloon, watching it slowly fill, we took a minute to reflect and talk through what was happening and why the gas had to go somewhere.
At CDLC, we seize moments like these to engage with our learners, uncovering their unique styles and passions.
By understanding what excites them, we can tailor their experiences and help illuminate potential career paths.
Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to announce that enrollment is now open for our Summer bridge program and for the 2026-2027 school year! This is a fantastic opportunity for your homeschooler to dive deeper into hands-on experiences, expanding their knowledge and creativity in a supportive environment. Our Carpe kids had a little visitor today. Should we get a four legged friend 🐾 for our “home”?

At the craft lab today, one of our learners made a felt keychain and got a gentle introduction to sewing skills along the way. We even used the old-school trick of licking the end of the thread to help guide it through the eye of the needle.
What looks simple on the surface actually takes patience, focus, and a steady hand. Sewing is a great way to build fine motor skills, hand ✋ eye coordination, and dexterity which are all important for writing, everyday tasks, and growing confidence through problem solving.
Sometimes the smallest projects build the biggest skills.
