Coregulation! https://www.theottoolbox.com/co-regulation/

The definition of co-regulation isโ€“ the ability to regulate emotions and behaviors to soothe and manage stressing internal sensory input or external situations, with the support and direction of a connecting individual. Co-regulation is nurturing connection of another individual that supports regulation needs through the use of strategies, tools, and calming techniques in order to self-soothe or respond in times of stress.

Co-regulation and self-regulation are part of the developmental process. In order to move from a co-existing place to a place of independence, the child needs to develop emotional intelligence and social emotional learning. All of this is part of typical development.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to support one another, spread kindness, and prioritize emotional well-being. ๐Ÿ’š

At Pinebrook Family Answers, weโ€™re recognizing the importance of mental health through simple acts of appreciation and connection- including sweet treats like a candy bar and beautiful flowers to brighten the day ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿซ

Together, we can continue building a community of care, compassion, and support for all.

Week of the Child_2026 05/11/2026

During Week of the Young Child, the Early Childhood Education Collaborative in partnership with PBS39 created a video highlighting some of the incredible early childhood teachers in our area. These teachers and many others like them make a lasting impact every single day. Their dedication, compassion and commitment to young learners deserve to be celebrated not just during Teacher Appreciation Week, but every week of the year. Thank you for all that you do for children, families and our community.

Week of the Child_2026 This is "Week of the Child_2026" by PBS39 on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.

Congratulations to The Sensory Village! We love to see how our community supports the growth and development of the children. You are doing great work!

๐ŸŽ‰ BIG NEWS!!! ๐ŸŽ‰

Weโ€™re thrilled to announce that weโ€™re in the process of developing our very own non-profitโ€”The Sensory Village Foundation! Our mission is to make sensory play accessible to EVERYONE in our community. Through family scholarships for memberships, free field trips for Title 1 schools, free support groups open to all, and collaborations with local schools and businesses to enhance or create sensory rooms (and so much more!), we hope to make a difference for as many families as possible.

We canโ€™t wait to get started and bring the joy of sensory play to even more people through The Sensory Village Foundation. Stay tuned for updatesโ€”weโ€™re just getting started! ๐ŸŒŸ
