Important Update: AC is Restored

Dear Families,

We have great news to share: the building’s air conditioning has been successfully repaired, and the system is back on!

Because the unit was off, it will take a little time for the entire building to completely cool down. To ensure our students stay comfortable, we will continue to monitor classroom temperatures throughout the morning and provide plenty of water breaks today.

Thank you so much for your patience, flexibility, and support as our maintenance team worked to get us back up and running!

Important Update: School AC Outage

Dear Families,

I am writing to inform you that our school’s air conditioning system experienced a breakdown midday today.

Our facilities team and district leaders have been made aware of the issue. A technician is scheduled to be out to diagnose by the end of the day. Because this is a developing situation, we also do not yet know how this will impact tomorrow's schedule or our planned End-of-Grade (EOG) testing.

Please rest assured that our top priority is the comfort and safety of our students and staff. We are monitoring room temperatures closely and keeping everyone as comfortable as possible for the remainder of the afternoon.

What happens next:

We will send a follow-up communication as soon as we have a definitive update.
This update will include specific information regarding tomorrow's school day and any adjustments to the EOG testing schedule.

In preparation for the next school year, please complete the Carpool Registration Form if you are:

1️⃣Renewing your registration for the 2026-2027 School Year.
2️⃣You will be new to MCES for the 2026-2027 school year.
3️⃣You will be new to using carpool for the 2026-2027 school year.

If you are a current MCES family with a carpool number, you will be issued the same number that you are currently assigned. You do need to complete the Carpool Rules and Expectations to receive your renewal sticker. If you have questions, please contact the Receptionist at 919-773-9555 ext. 0.

If you live within the "walk zone," please complete the Walker Registration and Renewal form. You can verify your eligibility for walker status by visiting www.wcpss.net/transportation. You must live in the "No Transportation Zone" to register as a walker.

What an incredible year in the library! MCES has had almost 22,000 books circulated since July!

As we wrap up the 25-26 school year, we want to make sure all of our readers have a chance to enjoy our library books while also helping us get our shelves organized for next year.

Please keep these two important dates in mind:

📚June 12th: The last day for students to check out books.
📚June 18th: The date all library books must be returned to the school.
