🧡 To the monarch butterflies…

Thank you.

Thank you for stopping by our flowers, carrying pollen from bloom to bloom, and reminding us that even the smallest visitors can make the biggest difference.

Monarch butterflies are more than just beautiful, they’re important pollinators that help support healthy gardens, thriving ecosystems, and the biodiversity that makes farms like ours possible.

But these incredible travelers are facing challenges. Habitat loss, fewer native plants, and changing environmental conditions have made it harder for monarch populations to thrive.

The good news? Our gardens can be part of the solution.

Here’s how you can help:

🦋 Plant milkweed—it’s the only plant where monarchs lay their eggs and the only food monarch caterpillars can eat.
🌼 Add nectar-rich flowers that bloom from spring through fall.
🚫 Avoid unnecessary pesticides that can harm butterflies and other beneficial insects.
🌱 Create a garden that’s full of life—for pollinators, wildlife, and people alike.

Every monarch that visits our farm is a reminder that healthy habitats matter.

Thank you, monarchs. We’ll keep planting for you. 💛

🐝 Take a closer look.

See those bright yellow clumps on this bee’s legs? That’s pollen.

While collecting nectar, bees unintentionally pick up pollen grains from a flower’s anthers (the male reproductive structures). As they move from flower to flower, some of that pollen is transferred to the stigma (the female reproductive structure), allowing fertilization to occur.

That single trip from one bloom to the next is called pollination, and it’s one of the most important ecological processes on Earth.

Pollination makes it possible for plants to produce seeds and fruit, supports healthy ecosystems, and helps sustain the biodiversity that wildlife depends on. In fact, roughly 75% of flowering plants and about 35% of global food crops rely on animal pollinators to reproduce.

At Finding Nectar, we see this incredible process happening every day. Every pollinator-friendly plant we grow is another opportunity to support bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial insects that keep our landscapes healthy and productive.

The next time you spot a bee with “pollen pants” like these, you’ll know you’re witnessing one of nature’s most important jobs in action. 🌻💛

🐝🌼 Pollinator Week Spotlight 🌼🐝

Pollinators are some of the hardest-working members of the farm, and most people never even notice them.

From the flowers in our nursery to the vegetables, herbs, and fruits we grow, pollinators help make it all possible. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, moths, and other beneficial insects play a critical role in supporting healthy ecosystems and productive landscapes.

At Finding Nectar, creating habitat for pollinators isn’t just something we talk about - it’s part of everything we do. Every pollinator-friendly plant we grow, every native flower we recommend, and every garden we help create contributes to a healthier environment for these essential species.

This Pollinator Week, we’re celebrating the tiny creatures that help our farm bloom, support biodiversity, and connect us to the natural world. 💚

Want to help pollinators at home?

🌱 Plant native flowers
💧 Provide a water source
🐝 Avoid unnecessary pesticides
🌼 Add a variety of blooms that flower throughout the season

Together, we can create more habitat, more food, and a healthier future for pollinators and people alike.

Did you know it’s Pollinator Week?

This week, we’re celebrating the bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, moths, and other pollinators that help produce one out of every three bites of food we eat and keep our ecosystems thriving.

The good news is that anyone can help. By planting native flowers, reducing pesticide use, and creating habitat for pollinators, you can make a real difference right in your own yard.

At Finding Nectar Nursery, our mission is to help people create beautiful landscapes that support pollinators and strengthen our local environment.

Join us this Pollinator Week and help give our pollinators the food and habitat they need to thrive. Every flower planted makes a difference.”
