Heavy storms rolled through Springfield, IL, overnight June 10-11, temporarily putting a damper on the 2026 Midwest Charity Horse Show being held on the historic state fairgrounds. Storms inflicted serious damage in locations throughout the capital city, and left the fairgrounds without power causing a pause in the show. As of midday on Friday June 12, power had been restored and the schedule refigured. Thursday’s evening session was moved to 8:30am this Friday morning. Friday’s matinee began 30 minutes after the completion of the rescheduled Thursday night session. Friday’s evening session is on target to begin at 6:30pm. A fun Italian Night party will be held in the fairground’s Artisan Building following Friday night’s evening show.
