We provide students with cutting-edge academic and professional curriculum and diverse experiential learning opportunities in advertising and public relations. #ADPRide Award-winning teachers and nationally recognized researchers teach classes in the department. In addition to a core program of required skills, management, design and writing courses, ADPR majors can choose from an array of special
topics classes in such areas as social media, crisis communication, political advertising, fundraising, advertising and consumer psychology, sex in advertising, international advertising and Latin-American telenovelas due to the varied expertise of the faculty. Our department prepares students to be creative problem solvers, writers, managers, policy and communication decision makers, media planners and analysts in the fields of media, advertising and public relations. This program emphasizes persuasive communication skills in emerging and traditional media that are essential for effective communication in the 21st century.
