π Emergency Preparedness Starts One Step at a Time
Many low-income families face unique challenges during power outages and severe weather events. Simple items such as AA and AAA batteries can make a significant difference by helping families maintain access to flashlights, weather radios, communication devices, and other essential emergency supplies.
One practical emergency preparedness strategy is purchasing a pack of batteries during regular grocery tripsβespecially when they are on sale or coupons are available. Building an emergency kit gradually can help families prepare for unexpected situations without creating additional financial strain.
Earlier today, DFOWW Incorporated hosted a supplemental food distribution at Growth Mindset Wellness PC in Stockbridge, Georgia.
However, food distributions are only one component of our Write-Right Nutrition Program.
Our program was designed to combine nutrition literacy education with supplemental food assistance because providing food alone addresses immediate needs, while education helps families develop long-term skills related to nutrition, budgeting, food security, gardening, and healthy living.
To ensure that limited resources reach those actively engaged in our educational programming, supplemental food distributions are primarily reserved for enrolled Write-Right Nutrition Program participants and our trusted community partners.
π± Families who register and participate in our upcoming Kids & Parents Gardening Workshop will become eligible for future supplemental food distributions and other program resources.
During this hands-on workshop, families will learn:
β
How to grow fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices at home
β
Container gardening for apartments and small spaces
β
Ways to stretch grocery budgets and SNAP benefits
β
Nutrition and healthy eating habits
β
Practical strategies to improve household food security

Food assistance helps address immediate hunger, but nutrition education helps families build long-term food security.
Many families today are struggling with rising grocery prices, increasing healthcare costs, and the challenge of providing healthy meals on a limited budget. While food distributions can help supplement a household's food supply, learning practical nutrition and budgeting skills can create lasting benefits for the entire family.
That is why DFOWW Incorporated created the Write-Right Nutrition Program β a unique nutrition literacy education program that combines supplemental food assistance with six interactive, in-person workshops designed to help families make healthier and more informed food choices.
Workshop topics include:
π The importance of good nutrition
π° Strategies for managing rising food and healthcare costs
π₯ Understanding nutrition labels and making healthier food choices
π± Gardening and growing food at home
π§ The role of hydration and adequate rest in overall wellness
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Building healthy habits for the entire family
Because our program was specifically designed to complement the services provided by community food banks and hunger-relief organizations, priority access to our food distributions is reserved for our participating community partners and individuals actively enrolled in and attending Write-Right Nutrition Program workshops.
On Thursday, DFOWW Incorporated hosted food distributions at Remedy in Atlanta and Growth Mindset Wellness PC in Stockbridge, Georgia, helping supplement families while reinforcing the importance of nutrition education.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Mrs. Tiffany Bates, NP, and her staff for their continued support. We also thank the staff at Remedy for assisting our efforts to serve the community.
π Registration is now open for upcoming workshops.
Learn practical skills that can help stretch your food budget, improve your family's nutrition, and build healthier habits for the future.

π Education + Nutrition = Empowerment π±
Providing nutrition literacy education alongside food distributions is one of the most effective ways to promote long-term food security. While food distributions help meet an immediate need, nutrition education equips individuals and families with the knowledge and skills needed to make healthier food choices, stretch limited grocery budgets, and build sustainable habits that support lifelong wellness.
At DFOWW Incorporated, we believe that combining food access with education creates a stronger and more lasting impact within our communities. Through our Write-Right Nutrition Program, participants not only receive nutritious foods and essential resources, but also gain valuable nutrition literacy skills that can help reduce food insecurity and improve overall health outcomes.
On Monday, we were honored to host a community food distribution at Growth Mindset Wellness PC in Stockbridge, Georgia, providing food and support to local individuals and families.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our volunteers, community partners, and supporters who help make this important work possible.

Earlier today, DFOWW Incorporated (Daphanyβs Fabulous Objective Weekly Workshops), a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, proudly hosted supplemental food distributions through our valued community partners at Remedy in Atlanta and Growth Mindset Wellness P.C. in Stockbridge, Georgia.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our community partners, volunteers, and supporters who help make these community outreach efforts possible.
At DFOWW Incorporated, supplemental food distributions are one component of our broader Write-Right Nutrition Program (WRNP), an initiative designed to combine nutrition literacy education with supplemental food support.
Research consistently shows that access to nutritious food and nutrition education work best when provided together. While supplemental food assistance can help address immediate needs, nutrition literacy education helps individuals and families develop practical skills such as meal planning, grocery budgeting, nutrition label comprehension, healthy food preparation, food sustainability, and reducing food waste.
For many families, long-term wellness requires more than access to food alone. It also requires access to knowledge, resources, and practical skills that can help support healthier lifestyles and greater self-sufficiency.
Through the Write-Right Nutrition Program, DFOWW Incorporated is committed to helping individuals and families strengthen both food access and nutrition knowledge.
Education + Nutrition = Empowerment.

As part of this program model, supplemental food distributions are generally offered as a benefit of active participation in the Write-Right Nutrition Program. Individuals and families who enroll in and actively participate in our nutrition literacy workshops receive notifications regarding eligible program activities, resources, and supplemental food distribution opportunities connected to the program.
This approach allows us to connect short-term assistance with long-term education and practical life skills that may help families build greater self-sufficiency over time.

Did You Know? Botanically speaking, tomatoes are actually classified as a fruit because they develop from the fertilized o***y of a flower and contain seeds. However, from a culinary β and even legal β perspective, tomatoes are commonly treated as vegetables because of their savory flavor profile and how they are typically used in cooking.
Understanding nutrition, healthy foods, gardening, and food sustainability is one of the many educational topics incorporated into DFOWW Incorporatedβs Write-Right Nutrition Program (WRNP). π±
