✨ Yesterday, CMHE had the honor of participating in the CARE PACKAGE® Salon hosted by CARE and Beauty Forward ✨
Dr. Hernandez-Green, Danielle Mauzy, Gabby Dirden, and Reonna Porter, a CARE participant, joined founder and an inspiring group of leaders across beauty, culture, health, and philanthropy for an evening centered on maternal health in Atlanta. 🤍
This intimate gathering blended meaningful conversation with collective action—assembling CARE PACKAGE® boxes to support mothers enrolled in CARE’s Maternal Health Program and the birth workers who care for them.
We’re proud to be part of efforts that uplift families and advance maternal health equity in our community.

We were honored to capture this moment with Dr. Natalie Hernandez-Green and U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ( / ) alongside U.S. Representative Nikema Williams () during their visit to Morehouse School of Medicine.
Together, we engaged in critical dialogue around the maternal mortality crisis impacting mothers in Georgia and across the nation—centering the urgent need for equitable, respectful, and accessible care.
At a time when threats to research funding at institutions like the NIH, CDC, and FDA put progress at risk, conversations like these remind us why we must continue to advocate, uplift, and fight for the health and well-being of our communities.
At the Center for Maternal Health Equity, we remain steadfast in our commitment to ensuring every mother is seen, heard, and supported—through research, advocacy, and action.
