6th grade Odyssey scholars connected with the team from the HERCULES Exposome Research Center to learn about Environmental Health today. Students participated in hands-on experiments to learn about measuring and understanding clean air, how to distill liquids, and ways to make simple methods of cleaning such as laundry detergent.

Thanks to Alyson Britt, OHS Director, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners proclaimed today, June 17, 2026, as Odyssey Atlanta Appreciation Day!
Scholars had the opportunity to join Commissioners at the podium and take part in the Proclamation presentation. They also had an opportunity to voice their concerns for two issues: the overcrowded cells in the Fulton County Jail and cell phone bans in schools. We couldn't be more proud of these future leaders!

Special Thanks to Babson College for speaking to High School Scholars! Students were able to hear about the institution's 370 acre campus, its Undergraduate and Graduate opportunities for learning, and the next steps to apply for eligible students.

Shoutout to seven Elementary Odyssey students who were recognized by the Odyssey Scholar Spotlight this past week. This Spotlight is given to students who have exhibited a dedicated to curiosity, learning, and hard work.

Chris 180 had the chance to speak to multiple Odyssey grades today about topics such as: defining stress, identifying symptoms of this emotion and how to cope with stress, particularly during the school year. Students were able to share with Chris 180 advocates the music that helps them through their most stressful moments!

Thank you to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered, and showed up for the Odyssey Quest Run 5K — your impact goes far beyond race day! From the warmup with Emmanuel Houston () through to the final person across the finish line, it was a morning full of energy, community, and purpose.
It was a reminder of what community looks like in action. Because of you, we’re able to continue supporting students throughout the summer and beyond.
