A group of Georgia Tech researchers has created headphones that can relay sound from all directions. Spherephones have four speakers on each ear so users can hear sound from above, behind, and below in addition to left and right.
Spherephones were originally developed to improve safety for factory workers interacting with robotic equipment. This omnidirectional audio experience has the potential to revolutionize the VR gaming experience. | c.gatech.edu/3Se1hYa ππ§

Georgia Tech President Γngel Cabrera has been named the new president and CEO of The Aspen Institute. Arriving on The Flats in 2019, Cabrera became the 12th president of Georgia Tech and led the Institute through a period of remarkable growth.
During his tenure, enrollment increased by 55%. At 56,000 students, Georgia Tech is now the largest university in the state. Under Cabrera's guidance, Georgia Tech has surpassed $1.4 billion in research awards and is a top-ranked university in the country in total research expenditures among institutions without a medical school.
In the last seven years, Georgia Tech has developed major research centers in AI, neuroscience, and space β continuing to position Georgia Tech as a global research institute dedicated to progress and service in Atlanta, the state of Georgia, the nation, and the world.

Georgia Tech completed the four-year EcoCAR Challenge cycle with a first-place win at the final competition. The team earned the first-place overall finish, 11 engineering awards, and two communications awards.
Over the four-year cycle, more than 250 undergraduate and graduate students from six Georgia Tech Colleges collaborated to reengineer a Cadillac LYRIQ EV, adding a new front motor, a clutch-enabled rear motor, and automated driving features. ποΈπ | c.gatech.edu/4uGAaTW
