Shout out to a great bus trip on the NextGen bus service. I had an off-campus errand to run before coming to campus so I got to check out a new bus route and it was SO easy. Check out the ‘deets below:
1) Tap to pay is a game-changer. I didn’t need cash or my Breeze card; I just tapped my credit card when I boarded - quick and seamless.
2) I used the directions app on my phone and selected the transit mode. This showed me exactly where to board the bus and how soon it would arrive.
3) My bus was running on a ten-minute schedule and, despite the rain and morning traffic, it was on time!
3) The bus driver was a total gentleman – providing helpful tips to a rider with questions and making pleasant small talk about the weather.
4) I rode the 20, which served multiple stops adjacent to main campus buildings: 35 Broad, Natural Science Center, Langdale, Classroom South, and finally the Student Recreation Center.
5) This is a great route for Panthers who are commuting from DeKalb county, with service from Wesley Chapel Road, Rainbow Drive, and the South DeKalb Transfer Center.
6) If you live in Candler-McAfee/ Belvedere Park you qualify for the MARTA Reach service – this is on-demand, Uber-type service that will pick you up from your home and bring you to the transfer station to catch the #20 bus downtown.

This past weekend, we had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Southeastern Student Sustainability Conference at Appalachian State University! ♻️🌳
Our student interns got to attend breakout sessions and excursions to learn how other student 👩🏼🤝👨🏾sustainability leaders from across the southeast are tackling sustainability 🌱 on their campuses!
We also had the chance to visit the Appalachian Theatre of the High Country 🎬 and watch the documentary “A Beast Touch the Mountain” ⛰️. The documentary was followed by a panel with the director and the amazing women featured in the film.
A huge thank you 🙌 to for hosting this conference!
We are so thankful for this experience and are excited to bring some new ideas to Georgia State! 💙🐾
