Ryan didn’t wait for an opportunity—he went after it.
After building his skills through Robinson’s Graduate Career Advancement Center, he took a bold step and reached out directly to a hiring manager. That one message turned into an interview and ultimately an Administrative Internship at Atrium Health Navicent.
💬"The Building Social Capital workshop introduced me to the value of coffee chats, and since then I've become much more comfortable reaching out, asking thoughtful questions, and building connections."
His journey is a reminder that sometimes the biggest career move is simply taking the first step.

Last Friday, Robinson graduate students stepped outside the classroom and into Atlanta's innovation ecosystem during a visit to Atlanta Tech Village! 🚀
A highlight of the day was Startup Chowdown, a networking lunch that brought together entrepreneurs, professionals, and innovators from across the Atlanta startup community. Students had the opportunity to make new connections, learn about emerging ventures, and gain insights into the entrepreneurial journey.
Sometimes the best connections aren't on the agenda. While waiting in line for lunch, our group struck up a conversation with Stacey Sinclair Culverson, COO of The Legacy Line. What started as small talk turned into an impromptu walk through the history of ATV, along with an inside look at the work happening at The Legacy Line. Completely off the cuff, and genuinely appreciated — thank you, Stacey!
Special shoutout to Janish Kumar for stepping up and participating in Pitch Practice, showcasing both confidence and a willingness to put skills into action.
Experiences like these remind us that networking opportunities can happen anywhere, and one conversation can open the door to new ideas, perspectives, and possibilities.

Sometimes the opportunity that changes everything starts with someone believing in you.
As an MBA student concentrating in Human Resource Management, Jeanelle Ovid leaned into Robinson's Graduate Career Advancement Center resources and built a strong connection through Ask-A-Coach. With guidance, encouragement, and a timely recommendation from Career Coach Tsehay Wright, she applied for an opportunity that would ultimately lead to her role as a Recruitment and Retention Intern with the Georgia Department of Administrative Services.
💬"Keep applying and believing in yourself and the team at RCB, even in the midst of rejection. Rejection is always redirection and you'd end up exactly where you should be."
Jeanelle's journey is a reminder that rejection is not the end of the story. Persistence, preparation, and having the right support system can open doors you never expected.
