: As Lee Stephens III ’81 concluded a distinguished 36-year career with the global financial institution, Rashad Townsend ’22 organized a special fireside chat at BNY’s New York office to reflect on Stephens’ professional journey and lasting contributions to the organization.

The conversation brought together employees from across the company and explored lessons in leadership, navigating challenges, and building a meaningful career. During his tenure, Stephens served in multiple roles and played a significant role in expanding BNY’s presence across the U.S. public sector, Asia-Pacific region, and Africa. He is also recognized for mentoring emerging leaders and creating opportunities for others throughout his career.

The moment served as a powerful reflection of the Morehouse legacy, with one generation reaching back to honor another while continuing the work of leadership and excellence.

Funding Your Future. Supporting Men of Morehouse.

Today, we celebrate the fathers, father figures, and mentors whose love, guidance, and sacrifice have helped shape generations of Morehouse Men.

Whether cheering from the sidelines, offering words of encouragement during late-night phone calls, helping navigate life's challenges, or celebrating milestones from acceptance letters to Commencement, fathers and father figures play an invaluable role in the Morehouse journey.

Their influence extends far beyond our campus, continuing to inspire our students and alumni as they lead lives of consequence in their families, professions, and communities.

To all the fathers and father figures in the Morehouse community, thank you for your wisdom, strength, and unwavering support.

Happy from The House.

Stepping into Juneteenth 2026 like... 🥁💥

At Morehouse College, we recognize as both a celebration and a call to reflection.

Observed each year on June 19, Juneteenth commemorates the day enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom in 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Today, we encourage our community to celebrate with family and friends, support Black-owned businesses, engage with local events, explore Black history, and take time to reflect on the legacy of those whose courage and perseverance made freedom possible.

As the House of Funk keeps the rhythm moving forward, we honor the generations who paved the way and those who continue the work today.

Happy Juneteenth, Maroon Tigers.
