Since joining Texas Global in 2019, Liz has supported visiting faculty and researchers through advising appointments, emails, orientations, events, and behind-the-scenes coordination.

For Liz, working with international scholars means helping people who bring life-changing research, teaching, and global perspectives to UT Austin. One of the most rewarding parts of her role is hearing about the work scholars are doing across every field, from STEM to the liberal arts.

Meet Mayra Cortez-Cotto from the ISSS Faculty and Scholar Services team! 👋

Originally from El Paso, Mayra joined Texas Global in 2018 as a senior scholar advisor and became an assistant director in 2021.

While much of her work happens behind the scenes, Mayra helps support international faculty and researchers whose work strengthens the UT Austin community.

The global game is coming to Austin! ⚽🌎

Austin FC is hosting free FIFA World Cup 2026™ watch parties all summer long, starting with opening match celebrations at Auditorium Shores on June 11 and 12.

This is a great way for International Longhorns to celebrate soccer, community, and cultures from around the world right here in Austin.

Meet Tisha Korkuś from the Student Advising Services team! 👋

With more than 15 years of experience in international education, Tisha supports students through advising appointments and important immigration processes, including CPT, OPT, and I-20 requests.

Her own high school study abroad experience in Argentina helped shape the way she supports international students today—with patience, care, and plenty of appreciation for language and food culture.
