The FIFA World Cup has Buchanan, Wirtz and Miller.
So do we.
One side scores goals.
The other helps manage floods, generate electricity and support communities across Central Texas.
Tough matchup, honestly.

We've seen some impressive rainfall across the region in the past 48 hours, with some areas picking up over 5 inches! 🌧️
If you got rain, turn off your sprinklers this week and conserve water - your lawn is already taken care of. Find totals near you at the Hydromet: hydromet.lcra.org
A different view of today’s flood operations at Tom Miller Dam.
Earlier today, crews opened a floodgate to help move increased flows downstream. Here’s a look from above at the work that goes into managing the Colorado River system during flood events.
Water release in progress at Bastrop Dam.
Lake Bastrop operates independently from the Highland Lakes - when levels rise, LCRA releases water downstream through Spicer and Piney creeks to the Colorado River. If you’re in the area downstream, expect higher and faster flows than normal.
UPDATE: The floodgate at Tom Miller Dam is now closed.
___________
One floodgate was opened at Tom Miller Dam this morning and remains open as of 9:45 AM Monday, June 15, to pass floodwaters downstream.
Additional flows are also moving through one open floodgate at Bastrop Dam and through hydroelectric generation at one or more of the Highland Lakes dams.
