How to Travel Without Feeling Guilty About Money 06/17/2026

I'll be honest...there was a time when vacation spending felt incredible in the moment… and absolutely devastating the second I got home. 😩

I remember my girls' trip to Vegas in my early 20s. No real budget.

Not much in my accounts. Just vibes and a credit card. And when I got back? I was scrambling to cover rent.

I wasn't enjoying my life. I was borrowing peace from my future self to enjoy the present.

What I've learned since then (both personally and from coaching women) is that most people operate in one of two extremes when it comes to vacation spending:

😬 Overspending and dealing with the stress when they get home
😬 Restricting so much that they can't even enjoy the trip

But there's a middle ground, and that's what Episode 222 is all about.

I'm sharing 3 shifts that changed how I approach every trip now:

🩷 Plan your spending BEFORE the vacation - not during it (real-time decisions are emotional decisions!)

🩷 Decide your experience first, not just your budget - intention beats restriction every time

🩷 Stay connected to your spending without obsessing - awareness keeps you in control

Guilt-free vacation spending isn't about spending less. It's about spending with a plan. And when you do? You can come home from a trip feeling grounded... not stressed, not behind, not trying to recover.

One of the biggest mindset shifts I’ve had around health is realizing that feeling good physically impacts everything else… including how you manage your money.

When your energy is low, your routines usually suffer. When your body feels off, it’s harder to stay consistent, productive, and intentional in other areas of life too.

That’s why I’ve learned to stop looking at health habits as punishment and start looking at them as support.

Small choices add up more than people realize.

In this article, we’re sharing 6 foods that may help naturally support and boost your metabolism while helping you feel more energized and fueled throughout the day.

Because building your best life isn’t just about money, it’s about taking care of yourself holistically too 💕

Having savings won’t solve every problem in your life.

But it will change how you experience problems when they happen.

Because financial stress isn’t always about the emergency itself. A lot of the anxiety comes from feeling unprepared for it.

That’s why savings matter so much.

Not just because of the number in the account…but because of the peace, stability, and breathing room it creates.

And no, you do not need to save thousands overnight to start feeling better financially.

Small, consistent progress builds confidence too.

Every transfer. Every intentional choice. Every dollar you keep instead of spend. It all adds up.

That’s exactly why I created the FREE Summer Savings Challenge ☀️

Not to pressure you. Not to make you feel behind. But to help you start building momentum and creating more financial security one step at a time.

Over 4 weeks, our goal is to save an extra $250!

One of the biggest shifts in my financial life happened when I stopped treating all of my money like it had the same purpose.

Because when everything sits in one account, it’s easy to feel financially disorganized, even if you’re technically saving money.

That’s why I believe so strongly in giving your money structure.

Different accounts help me:
✨ stay organized
✨ reduce financial stress
✨ prepare for expected expenses
✨ enjoy life without guilt
✨ and make decisions from a place of intention instead of reaction

This isn’t about having a “perfect” setup…it’s about creating systems that support your real life.

When your money has a place to go before life starts happening, everything feels more manageable.

Trips feel better because they’re planned for.

Unexpected expenses feel less stressful because there’s preparation behind them.

Financial progress starts feeling more consistent because your money has direction.

If your money still feels scattered, reactive, or like you’re constantly moving money around to make things work… this is your sign to simplify your setup and become more intentional with your structure.

And if you want help building stronger savings habits and more intentional money systems, don’t forget the FREE CGS Summer Savings Challenge starts soon ☀️

If you know me, then you know there was a time in my life where vacation spending felt SO exciting in the moment… and SO stressful the second I got home.

And honestly? It took me a few experiences to really learn this lesson.

I remember going on a girls trip to Vegas in my early 20s knowing deep down that I probably couldn’t afford that trip the way I was approaching it.

I didn’t have a clear budget.
I didn’t have much in my accounts to begin with.
I was just spending based on what felt good in the moment.

When I got home? Reality hit fast. I was stressed trying to figure out how I was going to cover my normal expenses, including rent.

That post-vacation anxiety stuck with me because it didn’t match the experience I thought I was creating.

I thought I was enjoying my life…I thought I was making memories.

But what I was actually doing was borrowing peace from my future self to enjoy the present.

THAT is what I really want women to understand about vacation spending.

The problem usually isn’t the trip itself.

It’s the lack of planning, the emotional spending, the avoidance, and the “I’ll figure it out later” mindset that follows so many people into travel.

That’s exactly what we’re talking about in this week’s episode!

I’m discussing:
✈️ what actually causes people to overspend on trips
✈️ why guilt shows up so often around travel
✈️ and how to approach vacations in a way that lets you fully enjoy them without throwing your finances off track

Because vacations should create memories… not financial stress that follows you home.

Today’s Affirmation: “I am a magnet for consistent income, growing wealth, and unexpected financial blessings.” 💰✨

Saving money is important.

But saving money at the expense of your quality of life, financial stability, or long-term growth? That’s a different conversation.

Because sometimes what looks financially responsible on the surface is actually creating imbalance underneath.

I’ve seen women:
→ aggressively save while constantly pulling money back out
→ focus so heavily on savings that debt payoff gets ignored
→ build large savings accounts while neglecting investing
→ avoid spending on themselves entirely out of fear or guilt

That’s not financial peace either. Your money should support your life…not create constant restriction, stress, or scarcity. Real financial wellness is balance.

It’s being able to:
✨ save consistently
✨ enjoy your life intentionally
✨ pay down debt strategically
✨ and build for your future at the same time

That’s why your financial plan should reflect your real life, not just the version of you trying to save the most money possible.

But honestly? Most of the time, it’s not about spending more.
