Belton ISD student historians are national champions!πŸ†

The Lake Belton Middle School documentary team of Emery Hobson, Sarah Jackson and Mya Kacal earned first place in the National History Day Junior Group Documentary category, bringing home a national championship for Texas.

Adding to an already historic year, both the BISD - Lake Belton Middle School and Lake Belton High School documentary teams were selected to showcase their work at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, a distinction awarded to just 22 documentary projects nationwide.

From state champions to Smithsonian presenters to national champions, these students proved the power of research, storytelling and hard work.🍎

Thank you for the countless ways you support, encourage and inspire students at home, in our schools and throughout our community.πŸ‘”
