The UAB AmeriCorps Program Staff is hosting a team-building painting event for North/Central VISTA volunteers and supervisors on Friday, June 26th from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the UAB Solar House and Sustainable Neighborhood.

We'll be painting wooden coasters that you can keep or give as a small gift! All supplies will be provided.

What exactly is "Capacity Building"?💙

The National Council of Nonprofits defines capacity building as an organization's "ability to deliver on its mission effectively now and in the future."

Capacity building is often described as the "infrastructure" that supports and shapes your organization and how it . AmeriCorps VISTAs engage in capacity building activities everyday to support their service site and build systems that will outlast their time with their site.

⭐Shout out to Jessica Azrin who recently graduated with her Master's degree in Public Health from George Washington University!

Jessica serves as a UAB Inclusive Well-Being Translational Science Lab VISTA where she serves as a VISTA and research assistant with Dr. Robin Lanzi and Hasaan Hawthorne.

We could not be more proud of Jessica, and we can't wait to see what's next for her.
