Mrs. Falconer's environmental science club recently showcased their hard work at the Alabama Youth Action for Sustainability Summit held at Camp McDowell. The students presented their research on the local endangered species, the watercress darter, and shared their findings on water quality variations in the spring near Roebuck Springs golf course. They highlighted the impact of pollution from the nearby road.

With the support of a $1500 YLACES grant, the club conducted thorough measurements of soil and water quality, allowing them to bring valuable insights to the summit. Their dedication and passion for preserving local ecosystems earned them well-deserved recognition as environmental justice warriors. Congratulations to all the students for their impressive presentations and contributions to sustainability!
