Florecer Community School has officially been approved by the Alabama Public Charter School Commission, and we are excited for what this means for Birmingham families.

Florecer Community School is Alabama’s first bilingual dual language public charter school, focused on helping students become multilingual, culturally connected, and globally prepared leaders. Our school will provide a tuition free K–8 education rooted in academic excellence, community, and opportunity for all students.

Thank you to the Ensley community and Birmingham families for welcoming us into your spaces, sharing your stories, attending forums, completing surveys, and believing in this vision from the very beginning. Thank you to the Alabama Public Charter School Commission, our founding board, community partners, supporters, educators, and every person who poured time, energy, and heart into making this possible.
