From her first Division I volleyball match as a freshman to photographing Samford basketball on the NCAA Tournament stage, Meg Robinson ’26 turned a passion for storytelling into a remarkable college experience.

A journalism and mass communication graduate with a concentration in print media and public relations and a minor in sports media, Robinson credits Samford’s community, faculty mentors and hands-on opportunities with preparing her for the next chapter: pursuing a master’s degree in emerging media at the University of Georgia.

“Samford gave me so many opportunities and stories that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life,” Robinson said. 📸🐾

The Film Production minor is offered in cooperation with the Department of Theatre and Dance. Our program explores conceptual and practical aspects of visual storytelling. Students will have hands-on experience, such as writing and editing scripts, using digital video cameras to capture scenes, and editing projects with high-end software.

Jessica Berg Reinke ‘23 shares her career path after graduation, “I am so grateful for my degree! I feel like I learned such a wide range of skills, from things like optimizing social media posts to organizing full-blown PR and advertising campaigns. Getting to work with clients in real time through my social media class with Nia Johnson has helped me tremendously in my career so far with digital engagement.”

The Communication Studies minor focuses on human communication in various contexts and modes of expression. Our program equips students with skills for managing relationships, group work, and conducting research.

The Samford Parent 2026-27 Resource Guide and Calendar is now available online.

A hard copy will be given to all parents of incoming Samford students during Bulldog Days and will be mailed to returning Parents Association Collegiate and Presidential Partners this summer.

Jonathan Bailey ‘14 shares his career path after graduating from Samford, “Go in with a beginner's mindset and a 1 Timothy 4:12 hunger and maturity. Get caught trying. College is a time to make mistakes, you don't have to graduate with everything all figured out. Journalism is a SMALL industry. Networking will get you further than talent alone ever could so don't be afraid to put yourself out there, look for mentorship, and build relationships with classmates.”
