Honors students spent the day organizing and sorting supplies, supporting efforts to connect resources with local community needs.

Through hands-on work with donated items, students helped advance a mission focused on strengthening communities through resource-sharing and care. 💚

Honors students explored creative expression by learning how to craft erasure poems, transforming pre-existing texts into original works by selectively removing words.

🔥 Honors Serves: Community Partner Spotlight ➡️ Jones Valley Teaching Farm at the Center for Food Education 🫶

Honors students helped support hands-on garden and space upkeep at the Center for Food Education, a hub for food, health, and sustainability learning in Birmingham.

Through their service, students supported a space that provides education programs, community gardening, fresh produce, and training opportunities that connect people to healthier food systems.

Honors students partnered with HCLC and UHP for an eco-friendly service night, making dog toys, later donated to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society. A hands-on way to give back to our community and our furry friends! 🐶 🐾

Honors students helped organize and prepare essential supplies, supporting a Birmingham-based organization that provides diapers, wipes, and feminine products to families in need. 💚

During the UAB Blazer Beginnings New Student Orientations, you will not only meet our Honors Ambassadors, but also other honors students who serve as Orientation Leaders! 😎

Both groups equip you with knowledge about UAB and the amazing opportunities available to you as a student, as well as life in the Honors College.
