13 years since this bloke walked into a bar in Berlin, Germany and my future was changed forever. 🖤

No part of me could ever have anticipated how my life would be now; but it’s even better than I could have imagined, because he’s by side and I’m by his.

A man of few words, but one of action.

No drama or bu****it. Determined and loyal. Stoic, humble and intelligent.

Quiet strength, love, support…..and so much fun. He makes me better in every way possible.

Sometimes the easy path isn’t the right one for you. The one everyone else has taken and expects you to take…..just doesn’t fit what you’re meant for.

I followed my heart…..it could easily have ended up broken. But I’d rather that then always be left wondering about that handsome American firefighter I met once in a bar in Europe….

Instead we’ve created a family and life together that I adore and am so proud of. We’ve continued to work, build, grow and evolve, allowing space for all that encompasses.

Unwavering support. Dark humour. Compassion. ☺️🖤

A good man in every sense. A better man than I ever thought I deserved….but am so thankful for sharing this life with every single day.

We all can engage in avoidance at times….but do we know what the ultimate cost can be if we lean into it as a coping strategy too often….?

Tomorrow on “Holding Space with Erin Jane” we’re going to tackle this and discuss how short term relief can be detrimental to us in the long run.

Catch me from 2pm EST Tuesday on The Thin Line Rock Station and stay listening for Rob Swan from 4pm.

Rob and I love to collaborate and bounce off each other for our topics each week. I always adore hearing his intelligent, introspective thoughts and opinions. You won’t want to miss it ☺️

So tune in and turn it up. Let us be the soundtrack to your shift 🔥🖤🤘

And…..this is what the weekend looks like 😎

Beach, sunshine, family time 🩵💫

Remember how important it can be to disconnect, decompress and protect your peace.

We all need to at times…..we can just get so busy or caught up in the urgency of life, we forget to grant ourselves the permission to prioritise our peace.

Let this serve as your reminder 😉

Enjoy ✌️🖤

How Can We Support The Men In Our Lives…?

It’s an important question, especially when the month of June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness and PTSD Awareness. When many First Responder and Emergency Services members are predominantly men, facing battles that no one knows about inside their own minds and we’re losing more to su***de than in the line of duty, these conversations matter.

But the spotlight doesn’t disappear after this month finishes….I’m highlighting it to draw attention and learn the best ways possible, so we can support men and their mental health ALL of the time 🩵

So, how do we support them….? I asked!!

Listen in to “Holding Space with Erin Jane” from 2pm EST only on The Thin Line Rock Station to hear the responses I received from the men I asked….and see what resonates 🖤

I look forward to spending a couple of hours together ☺️

Tune in and turn it up 🔥👊🏻

Wellness Wednesday #6: Learn To Pause, Create The Gap. Protect Your Peace.Erin Nugent First Responders, Mental Health, Emergency Services, Wellness, Mindset 06/10/2026

Wellness Wednesday is here 🖤💫

Edition 6: Learn To Pause, Create The Gap. Protect Your Peace.

Continuing on from our conversation yesterday on The Thin Line Rock Station about metacognition, I write about how learning to pause between noticing our thoughts or emotions and reacting to them, can actually be a form of proactive self care.

And a way to protect your peace.

Self care for First Responders and Emergency Services Members isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity.

Head to my website www.erinjanecoaching.com if you’re interested in reading this week’s Wellness Wednesday or check out my stories, as I’ll link it up there. (You should be able to click the link below as well 😉)

Cheers

Wellness Wednesday #6: Learn To Pause, Create The Gap. Protect Your Peace.Erin Nugent First Responders, Mental Health, Emergency Services, Wellness, Mindset I know that my positive perspective on life and desire to "hold space" could be seen as a soft or irrelevant approach for a hardened First Responder population. The things I share aren't going to be for everyone, that's ok. But the insight often missed is that I view my purpose as holding space for....

Live. That’s all we want you to do. At times….we know that can be asking a lot.

Live. Not perfectly or without sin. By no means free of mistakes, doubt, fear, shame, guilt or regret.
Because to err is human. Some of our biggest mistakes are our greatest lessons in life.

But too many men, especially those wearing the uniforms, badges and carrying the weight of First Responder and Emergency Services careers, are choosing a lasting, permanent solution to a temporary battle.

That’s not to minimise anyone’s struggles; to go to war every day inside your own mind, is a unique kind of warfare that tests even the greatest among us.

It’s to say, no matter what you’re going through, there are people who want to help support you through it. Rally around you, even at your worst moments. Not to judge or shame you…..but to light the way until you can find your way out of the darkness 🖤

No one is perfect or asking you to be. You don’t have to have it all figured out.

All we humbly ask…..our fathers, husbands, sons, friends, nephews, uncles, cousins, colleagues and mates, is to please stay. To live. To fight another day, but understand you don’t have to battle it alone. ❤️‍🩹

Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month 🩵

It matters. The numbers and statistics don’t lie.

Check on the men in your life. The loud ones and the quiet ones. The happy and the sad. The ones who seem angry all the time and those who are jovial and love to laugh. The ones you know to be struggling and the ones who appear to have it all together.

Ask the question. Listen to the answer. 🖤

This week on Holding Space with Erin Jane, we take a deep dive into metacognition! 🖤

What is in essence “thinking about thinking”, utilising this as a powerful tool, means we can learn the ability to pause between our thoughts and reactions.

As First Responders, it can be incredibly important to create that gap between our thoughts, feelings and emotions, because it allows a moment for heightened emotions to calm….even just for a moment.

The level of self awareness this can create, observing and understanding our thoughts and patterns of behaviour, creates the capacity to manage our emotions more effectively, pivot and adapt faster when faced with obstacles or challenges and better decision making overall.

This can be applied in our professional lives, but training and muscle memory play an important role there, so this conversation will focus more on our personal lives and relationships.

When combined with nervous system regulation and understanding not only the different responses, but how to actively engage in strategies to help ourselves come out of that response…..they are powerful tools that everyone can learn to utilise optimally.

Tune in to The Thin Line Rock Station from Tuesday 2pm EST and keep listening from 4pm for Rob Swan where he’ll carry on the conversation…..and probably throw in a few insults and Only Fans comments for fun 😉

I look forward to spending a few hours with you.

A radio station dedicated to supporting First Responders, Emergency Services Members and Frontline Workers….? You found it here with The Thin Line Rock Station🤘

Whether on duty or off, sometimes music is the only company you need. It can take you back to a moment you cherish, distract you from one you’d rather forget, or be the soundtrack to every hot job on your shift….either way, this is the place for you.

With hosts and DJ’s having worn the uniform, carried the weight….or still do, when you tune in to this station, you’re amongst people who “get it”; the same people you’d work beside for a 12 or 24hr shift every day.

Because we’re just like you, talking the way you talk, discussing the topics that matter, and playing great tunes because music can hit the depths of your soul, right when you need it to 🖤

You can take it with you on the go, crank it at the gym, sitting around the firehouse table, listen in at the dispatch center, the jail or out on the road on shift….either way, tune in and turn it up 🔥

With their own app for Apple or Android, you can listen via iHeartRadio or a vast array of options available on their website: www.thethinlinerockstation.com

Join me from 2pm EST today on The Thin Line Rock Station for “Holding Space with Erin Jane” 🖤🔥

We break down the negative perception and stigma surrounding men’s emotional expression.

That men who have the courage to be open, honest, raw and vulnerable about their thoughts, feeling and emotions, are actually exhibiting a strength of character….no weakness in sight.

The ability to employ self awareness and reflection, empathy, and set aside their ego to consider how they’re showing up in all facets of their life; and be humble enough to make adjustments and improvements where necessary…..shows a depth not everyone possesses.

Those who lob criticism from the sidelines often lack the insight to truly understand how important it is for men to not only understand their emotions, but also have a healthy release for them.

They also usually have the emotional depth of a puddle….🫠

So let’s have this conversation today, in line with Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month and rock out to some great tunes 😎🔥

Listen on the app, via iHeartRadio or www.thethinlinerockstation.com 🤘📻
