🚨 MAINE SALON OWNERS 🚨

If Maine is willing to help pay for your education, I feel like we should at least hear them out.

When my friend Candice Gray first told me about this program, I immediately assumed there had to be a catch. 🤔

Spoiler alert:
There wasn’t.

If you’re a Maine salon owner, you may qualify to receive reimbursement for education through the Maine Workforce Development Compact Program.

Which means you could potentially send yourself or your team to my upcoming True Color Method class at CoCo Cheveux in South Portland and receive reimbursement for a portion of the investment.

And because government websites tend to make my eyes cross, CoCo Cheveux owner Dawn put together this step-by-step guide to make the process as painless as possible.

👉 Swipe through to see:
• Who qualifies
• How to apply
• What paperwork you’ll need
• How reimbursement works
• Why waiting until the last minute is probably a terrible plan

Now let’s talk about the class…
This is NOT a brand class.
I don’t care what color line you use.

What I care about is helping you understand:
🧪 Why formulas work
🧪 Why formulas fail
🧪 How pH affects every service
🧪 What’s actually inside your products
🧪 How to formulate with confidence instead of crossing your fingers and hoping for the best

Because memorizing formulas isn’t confidence.
Understanding color is.

You know what I see every single day in stylist forums?

“What’s the formula for this?”

“What did you use?”

“Can someone tell me how to get this result?”

And every time I see it, I think the same thing:

That is one hell of a gamble.

Because you have no idea what that client’s starting point was.
You don’t know their color history.
You don’t know their density, porosity, texture, underlying pigment, or what happened before the photo was taken.

Yet we’re out here trying to copy someone else’s formula and hoping it magically works on a completely different human being. 😬

That’s not confidence.
That’s crossing your fingers and praying to the color gods. 🙏

In my Formulation Without Fear class at Be Well, I’m going to teach you how to stop chasing formulas and start understanding WHY formulas work.

Because when you understand:
🧪 What’s actually inside your tube of color
🧪 What developer is really doing
🧪 How to predict outcomes before you mix
🧪 How to formulate based on the guest in front of you

…every formula becomes bespoke.

You’ll stop wasting product.
You’ll stop overcomplicating things.
You’ll stop second-guessing yourself.

And you’ll start creating predictable, beautiful results using the color line you already own.

Brand-Free. Science-Based.

That’s the difference. 💯

The amount of FEAR selling in this industry is honestly wild.

I posted about clarifying hair and immediately got comments acting like I told people to take a Brillo pad to someone’s scalp.

At NO point did I say:
❌ “scrub the scalp raw”
❌ “rip the skin barrier apart”
❌ “strip the hair until it squeaks”

I said CLARIFY THE HAIR.

You know what actually burns people sometimes?
• Product buildup
• Mineral buildup
• Excessive oils
• Layers of dry shampoo
• Heavy coatings sitting on the scalp before a chemical service

If you’re putting bleach or color over all of that without properly cleansing first, you are literally increasing the risk of irritation and uneven results.

But somewhere along the line, this industry became:
“NEVER clarify!”
“NEVER use sulfates!”
“NEVER wash too well!”
“NEVER do this!”
“NEVER do that!”

And now stylists are terrified of everything.

Meanwhile the hair has:
✨medication buildup
✨ silicone buildup
✨ hard water buildup
✨ seven business days of dry shampoo
✨ three layers of purple shampoo
✨ and enough oil at the root to fry mozzarella sticks

Science over fear. Always.

Understanding WHY something works matters more than repeating scary blanket statements you heard online.

Clarifying done correctly is not abusive.
It’s responsible.

And sometimes?
It’s the very thing preventing a chemical burn.

It’s been a minute because I have been travel and sharing with stylists all over the country how to get the BEST and healthiest results with THEIR OWN color line.

I don’t try to sell you anything in class like regular education is designed to.

But the hate keeps coming. 🙄

Don’t be a Chad. Link in bio for classes - keep an eye out for updates cause I am teaching at Be+Well in Las Vegas in June and in person in Maine in September.

MIND BLOWN with all the FEAR in the comment section of the last video I posted promoting warmth to help process your guests color.

I’m EXHAUSTED and frankly a bit put off that “educators” follow me and don’t know how color works. I have so much empathy cause I used to be one too. In the largest salons teaching, on stage PROMOTING and selling our way was the ONLY way.

Wanna learn the chemistry behind EVERYTHING we do from someone who was trained in a LAB by CHEMISTS who actually does hair behind the chair?

That’s The True Color Method.

It’s not hype.
It’s not brand loyalty.
It’s not sales.

It’s real understanding so you can walk into every appointment knowing exactly what you’re doing AND stop showing your 🍑 when you comment on people’s posts.

And if you’ve been thinking about it… this is your sign to stop thinking.

📍 I’m teaching IN PERSON
