A story of how and why ODM was created almost 10 years ago! 🎉🎉🎉

“When we first started our daycare center in Cambridge, MA, we had a vision to create a space where children learn all the time! ✨

We wanted to combine joyful learning with rigorous education to match the high standards set by the state here in Boston. ✨

We already incorporated music into our program every day, so our brand was already strong and in demand. But families from MIT and Harvard were asking what curriculum we would be using for academics…

After searching for a curriculum that would meet our expectations, we discovered Montessori. We loved that the name was already recognizable to all the families who came to tour our facilities — whether they were coming from China, Ghana, Brazil, or Germany.

We also loved the concept of independent, self-directed learning that is foundational to Montessori pedagogy 🎉🎉🎉

After integrating Montessori into our learning program, we realized it truly was a game changer for our daycare centers!

We created Open Door Montessori, and in these online courses we gathered everything we implemented in our daycare centers for the successful integration of Montessori pedagogy.

Our online courses offer Montessori certifications in both English and Spanish! Additionally, ODM provides scholarships to make Montessori more affordable and accessible! ✨✨✨”

That's the problem Zaure Vuk is solving with Open Door Montessori.

After running daycare centers in Cambridge and navigating the challenges of implementing Montessori pedagogy outside traditional school settings, she created a training platform that serves daycare owners and providers differently.

Her focus: Innovation and solving systemic problems in the childcare field - not just offering another certification program.
What drives her? Building passionate communities of early childhood providers who continue to reimagine possibilities for young children.

I spent the afternoon designing a personalized course for an adult learner who is an assistant teacher in a Montessori classroom. They are looking to deepen their understanding of the Montessori philosophy and have tried multiple other training Montessori training courses. However, due to a learning difference, it was difficult for them to understand & internalize the content of the courses fully. They took our moderated course and appreciated our easy to understand yet authentic approach and have wanted more guidance and supported learning (we get it! )

The reality is we only ended up talking about one of these points due to all the wonderful participation throughout the call! The time always goes by too quickly! Any questions we are unable to discuss on the Zoom call are posted on the class discussion board. We are always encouraging the conversation to continue past our call together!
