💚May is Mental Health Awareness Month! 💚 SHS strives to raise awareness about mental health, reduce stigma, and share resources for all BU students. We encourage you to check in with your mental health by taking a free, confidential online screening at bu.edu/shs/screening.

As we near the end of May, it’s also a good time to plan how to support your mental health during the summer. If you’ll be residing in Massachusetts this summer, you can continue or start treatment with SHS clinicians. If you’ll be out of state, we can help you find a therapist near where you live to continue your care. Supporting your mental health also extends beyond therapy – we can all take care of our mental health by staying connected to others, maintaining boundaries, and making time for rejuvenating activities.

❗The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the Boston area for Tuesday, May 19- Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Stay safe in the heat by drinking plenty of water, keeping cool indoors with fans and/or air conditioning, and avoiding being outside when temperatures are at their hottest. ☀️

If you need relief from the heat, BU has multiple cooling center locations open! Know the signs of heat-related illness and call for help if needed! If you are on campus, call BU Police at 617-353-2121, or if you are off campus, call 911. Stay cool, Terriers!

If you don’t have SHIP, your eligibility to be seen at SHS ends when you graduate. If you have questions about your SHIP coverage, visit https://www.bu.edu/shs/guide-for-graduating-students/ (link in bio) or call 617-353-3579.
