Codman Academy Charter Public School

On May 29th, Codman Academy's 9th and 10th graders performed in our 25th annual Spring Showcase, presented in partnership with The Huntington, at the Calderwood Pavilion. Working with educators and professionals from The Huntington gives Codman students an authentic opportunity to shine on stage as they demonstrate mastery of MA English standards related to literature and public speaking, as well as our own Habits of Scholarship: Collaboration, Critique, Effort, Responsibility, and Compassion. Kudos to these talented performers!

Last week, WBZ-TV (CBS) CBS News reporter Levan Reid spent the morning at Charter Public School, capturing something we're incredibly proud of: students suited up as beekeepers and caring for our hives.
From tending the kitchen garden and composting to growing, harvesting, and preparing fresh ingredients, our students experience the full cycle of food production firsthand. They then see that work come full circle as produce from our campus is incorporated into dining hall meals and Culinary Arts classes.
The segment is now live and highlights the value of hands-on learning – teaching students where food comes from, how to build sustainable practices, and how to prepare healthy meals.
Experiences like these happen every day at Codman, but it's always exciting to welcome visitors who can help share our story. Thank you to Levan and the WBZ-TV team for shining a spotlight on this important work.

Christian, Ayurri and Javari will be attending Bunker Hill Community College. Ayurri will be studying to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), beginning a path in healthcare focused on care, compassion, and supporting others. Christian will be pursuing Culinary Arts, developing skills in creativity, technique, and the culinary industry. Javari will be studying Marketing.

Taesaun will be attending MassBay Community College to study Sociology and Psychology, exploring the ways people, communities, and human behavior shape our world. Aaron will pursue HVAC associates at MassBay Community College, preparing for a skilled and in-demand career in the trades.

We also proudly celebrate our 3/3 Fidelity Scholar, Tey'ronn Hailey, who has earned a full scholarship and will be studying Exercise Science at Fitchburg State. Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, Tey'ronn has secured an incredible opportunity to pursue his goals while minimizing the financial burden of college.
