Astrid recently attended orientation at Bryant University, where our founder, Julie Mulvey, helped her get settled and experience campus before the start of this exciting new journey.

We’re so proud of Astrid for taking this big step and embracing all that lies ahead. ✨

In a small-world moment, one of the first people she met was a professor of sports media who is originally from Los Angeles. It was a beautiful reminder that even when our scholars venture far from home, they’ll continue to find unexpected connections and a community that supports them.

They opened their home to our W2B high school students during our college tour this past spring, and now they’re welcoming Jazmine for the summer.

The Connors continue to show up and prove that it truly takes a village. We are so grateful for their commitment to creating a safe space where our students can feel supported and propel forward. This is what W2B is all about! ✨

This milestone was made even more meaningful with the presence of her longtime mentor, LAPD Lieutenant Busiere, who has supported and guided her for many years. Their relationship is a powerful example of the lasting impact of mentorship.

A talented chef and dedicated scholar, Jazmine graduated with double majors in Criminology and Sociology and a minor in Political Science. Her journey reflects resilience, discipline, and heart—and we’re so proud of everything she’s accomplished.

This celebration feels extra special because Stonehill College is also the alma mater of our founder, Julie Mulvey, making Jazmine’s achievement a meaningful full-circle moment for our Watts 2 Boston community.

The torch continues to shine bright at Northeastern University! ✨

We’re incredibly proud to share that Wendy will be attending Northeastern University this fall as a Torch Scholar, earning a full-ride scholarship through the program. Following in the footsteps of fellow Watts 2 Boston scholar Celeste, the torch is being passed from one inspiring young woman to the next. ❤️

Last month, Wendy had the opportunity to visit Northeastern’s campus for the first time on admitted students day, where she was also able to connect with Celeste and experience firsthand the community and support that awaits her in Boston.

We also want to recognize her LAPD CSP mentor, Officer Frank Muccio, whose encouragement, guidance, and continued support helped make this opportunity possible. Mentorship and community support can truly change lives, and Wendy’s journey is a beautiful example of that.

This week marked a huge milestone for our W2B scholar Celeste 🎓✨

Her journey reflects true hard work, discipline, and determination—especially as a first-generation college student paving the way for her siblings and community to follow. Celeste graduated from Northeastern University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing as a Torch Scholar, a testament to her leadership and commitment to excellence.

She celebrated surrounded by her two younger siblings, along with strong support from her LAPD mentor Officer Erick Ortiz and her W2B mentor Julie Mulvey—both of whom were instrumental in encouraging and guiding her journey. 💙

This moment was more than a milestone—it was the beginning of everything she worked for.

Watts 2 Boston is heading to the 2026 Falmouth Road Race! 🌊
