1 in 7 birthing parents women experience postpartum depression. How many intended parents do you think do, too?

The transition into parenthood is so stark for many intended parents. The sleeplessness, anxiety, identity shift, fear, responsibility, and emotional overwhelm don’t disappear just because someone else carried the pregnancy.

The truth is, we don’t really know the answer. Almost nobody is studying it. But I know I’ve met so many intended parents with clinical presentations of Postpartum, Grief, and carrying trauma responses after making it to the finish line of their family building dreams.

We. Need. To. Talk. About. Postpartum.

SEEDS Atlanta was a ✅ for me.

This conference covered it all, from ethical evaluations to AI in third party. Aside from getting food poisoning night 1 (less than ideal), so many highlights to note:

▫️meeting my clinical operations manager in real life (after knowing her for two years)

▫️reconnecting with over yummy guac and learning about her incredible rebrand and services

▫️hugging my marketing guru with gratitude for all the hard work she is doing for Embra

▫️speaking on a panel about ethics and best practices related to third party evaluations with some of the greats .backhaus.3

▫️hosting a roundtable about spotting and addressing psychological risk in surrogacy matches with fun flags and spicy debate

▫️catching up with our favorite third party attorney who is lovelier every time I see her.

And then coming home to hug my babies 💛. Working mom life is challenging, but when you find the sweet spot of both parts, it’s pretty amazing.

Did you know it is also Le***an Visibility Week?

Le***an and q***r women are often left out of how we talk about infertility.

Their jourey is often labeled as the “easier” path to parenthood. It’s not.

You don’t need a diagnosis to experience infertility. Social infertility comes with real stress, real decisions, and real emotional complexity.

Experiences of le***an and q***r women always belong in this conversation of family building.

Not all infertility looks the same.

Some people have a diagnosis. Some people don’t.
Some are trying for their first. Some are trying again.
Some need treatment. Some need support to even begin.

Different Paths. All valid. All need awareness AND respect, this week and forever.

thank you .is and for my new fav shirt🧡

And the conference season continues…

I love this one. An energetic of gathering of incredible humans learning about all their options to pursue their family dreams. The q***r community often has the harder hill to climb when it comes to family building, and orgs like this make education, resourcing, and financial access within reach.

Not to mention all the amazing agencies and clinic that support with discounts and pro bono services. Embra Health is proud to be a GPAP II and is currently supporting two journeys pro bono.

Okay favorite memories from this weekend:
