"The world turns and the world spins, the tide runs in and the tide runs out, and there is nothing in the world more beautiful and more wonderful in all its evolved forms than two souls who look at each other straight on. And there is nothing more woeful and soul- saddening than when they are parted... everything in the world rejoices in the touch, and everything in the world laments in the losing."
~Gary. D Schmitt

There is nothing more beautiful and more wonderful than the love we share with the special people in our lives. When one of them dies, there is nothing more woeful and soul-saddening.

We are woeful, our souls are saddened.

As the world continues to turn and the tides keep up there back-and-forth, we can reach out to the other people in our lives. Nothing will ever fill the particular sadness we feel, but we can meet up with a different soul and look at each other straight on. We can be fully present to one another, and the other person can companion us in our grief.

I lament in the losing. Sharing my grief with a friend or family member today will help me honour the beauty and wonder of the love I still feel and acknowledge the losing.

And it's begun...
Those moments when "random" memories and moments resurface at unexpected times.
Today when I reached over to get a pair of scissors ... it hit me. This holder was what Kenny made for me this year for my birthday.
He worked through his lunch break to ensure he completed it on time. He then stopped by after work to deliver it and a pair of light saber chopsticks 😉
He made a comment about sorry it wasn't more and he hoped it was OK.
My response?
My Beloved Son... if you had not given me anything, your visit alone was more than enough. Talking, laughing, getting a hug was a great birthday gift!!!

Moving forward will be a challenge... Of that I have no doubt. I also have no doubt that my Beloved Son would want and expect me to honor him, his life, and his legacy by finding my way back to joy and laughter. He knew me well enough (smile) to know that I am a big proponent of the Both/And. Grieve AND Love, Cry AND Laugh, feel the sadness AND the joy...
My mind has not FULLY grappled with the full reality of this. There are moments when I feel the usual, I have to text Kenny to ask him something or tell him something, or just to laugh, chat, check in as we would do almost daily... then I remember 😭

I appreciate your love, prayers, energy, and all the good vibrations for myself and the entire family and for the friends and fans of Kenny...

The kids will be experiencing their first Father's Day without him, and your prayers for them are appreciated as well.

Here is the Obituary cover that I designed and created for the family to then add their touch, photos, words, and love before it was printed for Saturday's viewing.

While the Kintsugi process has begun, I ask your patience (smile) as I continue to post about him for a while... I need to share my Golden Child with the world in whatever way I can!!

Not even a chapter.
A whole new book begins now with the closing of one that I didn't expect to close the way that it did.

How does one go from five to ?đŸ¤ˇđŸžâ€â™‚ī¸? sons in such a short span of time...
(That's a whole story)
💔

While this didn't test or cause me to question my faith, it did raise other questions for me about my life and what is mine to do now other than the obvious... love up the grandkids, other members of Kenny's family, ... the village!

Kenny and I had plans.
Japan ⛊ī¸ for one.
Start doing martial arts together again. Watch Doctor Strange and Sinners and talk about the metaphysical aspects. He was excited to read the new book and discuss that together. And much more...

The viewing, the stories, the repast, ... all of it was such a great testament to who Kenny was in his 46 years in this expression of life.

My Golden Child Forever missed, never forgotten, Eternally Loved! ❤ī¸âš˜ī¸âī¸

"The great thing about new friends is that they bring new energy to your soul."
~Shanna Rodriguez

Meeting new people when we're grieving is one way to give our grief momentum.

It's the newness itself that provides the opportunity. The freshness of the encounter stimulates our minds, hearts, and souls. This new energy forces us to think, communicate, and often, tell our stories.

Plus, we never know what new people will bring into our lives. Sometimes it's the very thing we need to get unstuck or ease today's pain.

Support groups, clubs, spiritual groups, community volunteering, travel, even saying hello to those we bump into in our communities - all these and more are ways to meet new people. When we're ready, we will open ourselves to the blessings they can bring to our lives.

Meeting me people can give my grief momentum.

Mixed feelings.... on top of the rollercoaster. The book has arrived!!
I purposefully scheduled the book to be released on Kenny's birthday June 2nd. He is mentioned in the acknowledgments, and one of these copies was for him 😭💔
