Le pont de Carroll Street est ouvert!! ☀️

We have been waiting 5 years for this! What a gift to the community. And how incredible is it that the bridge is for pedestrians🚶🏽 and cyclists 🚴🏻‍♀️ only. 🙌

Merci encore Council Member Shahana Hanif and Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani

June vibes chez nous ☀️

Balls in the air, paint on toes, hands in soil, bubbles in the water table, friends in the park, and the last golden stretch of the school year. Brooklyn + French + friends + brilliant teachers = tout ce qu’on aime. 💛

L’atelier d’art avec Anouk en Moyenne Section à Gowanus 🎨

Les grands projets d’art en groupe are not only joyful and engaging, they also support essential developmental skills. Expansive, cross-body movement helps strengthen the foundations for both literacy and math learning. Just as importantly, working together invites children to negotiate, plan, and share ideas with one another. In the process, they are learning the give-and-take of collaboration — and discovering what it means to be in relationship with others.

Nous avons encore quelques places en Moyenne Section — n’hésitez pas à nous contacter pour en savoir plus. 💛

The work of childhood happens through doing: through painting and building, through stories, conversation, and play, through the satisfaction of trying, returning, and trying again. In a French immersion environment, language becomes part of daily life in this same way - embedded in songs, books, friendship, routine, and discovery. 🫶🏻🫶🏼🫶🏽🫶🏾

At Smith Street, we believe children should not have to choose between a rich intellectual life and a joyful one. They deserve both rigor and wonder, both precision and creativity, both high expectations and the kind of care that pays close attention to the inner life of the child.

Le fond et la forme, thought and beauty, depth and delight. For us, they all belong together. ✨
