Join us congratulating David who graduated Oasis High School and is heading to FSW!
"Getting into karate, I didn’t know it would have been so challenging. I came in thinking I would have fun but instead I was faced with many obstacles. In contrast, I was lazy and unmotivated, so I quit. Leaving karate however made me look back and helped me realize how much it changed me. Without realizing it karate had helped me improve in my motivation and concentration. Now I’m back with new expectations and new ambitions for success.
It’s easy to say that without help from everyone at the dojo, I would not have the possibilities I have access to today. They’ve introduced me to so many opportunities, and if it weren’t for the guidance and push from sensei and Shihan I would have missed most of the things I have access to.
With the lessons I’ve learned in and out of the dojo, The most personal to me is learning that no one will hand you what you want, if you truly want it, you’ll work hard towards your goals in life and earn it. Studying at Florida South Western(FSW) is just the first step towards my goals, and I can’t thank Sensei and Shihan enough for teaching me these life lessons that will last me a lifetime."
Good luck, David! 👊

The Japanese fans stayed and cleaned up their section after yesterday’s World Cup match in Dallas.
The Japanese fans stayed and cleaned up their section after yesterday’s World Cup match in Dallas. This is a social norm in Japan, learned at a young age. In Japanese schools, students are responsible for cleaning their own classrooms and public areas. It teaches personal accountability, respect for the environment, and consideration for others. I love it!

Congrats to Alejandra who graduated FSW Collegiate High School and will be attending FGCU to study Exercise Science!
"One of the most important things I've learned at the Dojo is just how important dedication and perseverance can be. It can be challenging to do something for so long and move up the ranks, but I always knew that if I kept showing up, working hard, and was willing to learn and adapt, I would improve my skills. I have also learned to apply this to other areas of my life.
When a class gets hard, I find ways to learn and understand the material and persevere. When life gets difficult or confusing, I push myself because I know what I am capable of. Most importantly, I have learned that this Dojo is more than a place to learn Karate; it is a family.
I know that the people at this Dojo will always support and love me as much as I love them. We have each other's backs, always. No matter the age or rank, this Dojo taught me the importance of building connections and fostering relationships that will last a lifetime.
I truly love this Dojo and everything I have learned. I will carry these lessons and memories with me for a lifetime. Thank you so much for the best 13 years of my life!"
Good luck, Alejandra! 🥋
