Today is Malia’s last day at Cox Elementary, and while our hearts are heavy, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible impact she has made on our school community.

As many of you know, Leander ISD is implementing a Small School Model for campuses with fewer than 500 students. As part of this change, Cox Elementary will move from having separate receptionist and registrar positions to a single receptionist/registrar role.

Malia has been an amazing receptionist and one of the first smiling faces to welcome students, families, staff, and visitors each day. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for others have made a lasting difference in our school community. While she loves serving as a receptionist, the registrar role is not where her passion lies, leading her to pursue other opportunities.

Malia will be greatly missed by everyone at Cox. We are grateful for the relationships she has built, the support she has provided, and the countless ways she has helped make our school a special place.

This isn’t goodbye. It’s simply “see you later.”

Leander ISD Transportation Registration is now open for the 2026-27 school year. Every year, all eligible riders (general and special education) who will use transportation are required to register to ride.
