Day 4 of Aviation Adventure Camp was a blast! ✈️

We kicked off the day by learning all about the Control Tower—what controllers do, how they keep aircraft safe, and why they’re such an important part of aviation. The campers even got a special tower tour and had the opportunity to meet the air traffic controllers!

Next, we headed to the CAF Airbase Arizona where our future aviators explored incredible historic warbirds, discovered the stories behind the aircraft and exhibits, and learned so much from our amazing guide.

A huge thank you to the CAF Museum for welcoming our campers, sharing your knowledge, and inspiring the next generation of aviators. Experiences like these are what make Aviation Adventure Camp so unforgettable! ❤️✈️

✈️🚁 Aviation Adventure Camp is off to an incredible start!

Day 1: Helicopter Day 🚁
Campers learned all about helicopters and had the opportunity to explore several aircraft around the airport. We then visited MD Helicopter for a behind-the-scenes tour of their maintenance facility, where students got an up-close look at helicopter components and learned how these amazing aircraft are maintained.

A huge thank you to MD Helicopters for hosting us and for your continued support of youth aviation education. Experiences like these help inspire the next generation of aviation professionals!

Day 2: Aircraft Maintenance 🔧
Today was all about getting hands-on with aviation maintenance. Campers examined a Cessna 150 engine, learned about common maintenance practices, and even got to use some of the tools aviation technicians rely on every day. It was a great opportunity to see what it takes to keep aircraft safe and airworthy.

Today is a special day for all of us at Kids in Aviation!
Our very first student enrolled in flight lessons, Ryland, has officially completed his first solo flight! ✈️
I still remember meeting 13-year-old Ryland at our very first Intro to Flying class and seeing the passion and determination he had for aviation at such a young age. From day one, it was clear that he had a dream and the drive to pursue it.
We are incredibly grateful to have been a part of Ryland’s aviation journey and couldn’t be prouder of everything he has accomplished. Watching him grow as a pilot and as a young professional has been truly inspiring.
Congratulations, Ryland, on this major milestone! We can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make on the aviation industry in the years ahead. The sky is just the beginning. 🌟✈️

✈️🌟 What an incredible final day at Aviation Adventure Camp! 🌟✈️
Yesterday, our campers soared into the fascinating world of aerodynamics! They learned how lift, drag, thrust, and gravity work together to help aircraft fly, then put their knowledge into action by building their own wind tunnels. Students tested a variety of objects to see which ones would float, fly, or tumble, making exciting discoveries along the way.
The highlight of the day was a very special surprise—during the week every camper got the chance to take to the skies in one of our airplanes! Seeing aviation from above was an unforgettable experience and the perfect way to celebrate a week of exploration and learning.
As Aviation Adventure Camp comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a week filled with hands-on activities, new friendships, big smiles, and memories that will last a lifetime. From learning the basics of flight to experiencing it firsthand, our campers truly embraced the spirit of aviation.
Thank you to all of our campers, families, instructors, and volunteers who made this week such a success. The future of aviation is bright, and we can’t wait to see where these young aviators fly next! ✈️💙

🌟 Aviation Adventures Camp – Day 4 ✈️🚀
What an amazing day of learning and exploration!
Yesterday, our campers put the finishing touches on their rockets and built launch pads, getting everything ready for liftoff. 🚀 After all their hard work, we headed over for a special control tower tour where students had the incredible opportunity to meet air traffic controllers, go up into the tower, and get a behind-the-scenes look at how they help keep aircraft moving safely and efficiently. 👨‍✈️🛫
The adventure continued with a visit to the CAF Museum. Campers explored historic aircraft, saw authentic pieces of aviation history up close, and learned the fascinating stories behind the planes and the people who flew them. It was an unforgettable experience that brought aviation history to life! ✈️⭐
From building rockets to exploring the skies and the past, Day 4 was packed with discovery, inspiration, and hands-on learning. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Ava is an airline pilot, flight instructor, and aviation mentor who is passionate about helping the next generation discover what’s possible in aviation. Since beginning her flight training in 2017, she has earned multiple pilot certificates, worked as a CFI/CFII/MEI, trained and evaluated student pilots, and now flies professionally as an airline pilot.
Through mentorship, education, and storytelling, Ava is dedicated to inspiring young people to dream bigger, stay curious, and see aviation as an exciting and achievable future. Her journey is a powerful example of where hard work, determination, and a love of flying can lead.
We’re excited to have Ava share her knowledge, experiences, and passion with our students. Welcome to the team, Ava!

🚁 Day 2 of Camp Was a Blast! 🚀
Yesterday, our campers took to the skies as we learned all about drones! We explored how drones work, built our own, and practiced our flying skills. It didn’t take long to discover that we have some incredibly talented drone pilots in the group—there were some impressive flights and quick learners all around!
In the afternoon, we shifted our focus from drones to rockets. Campers began building the first stage of their rockets, carefully assembling the components and getting them ready for launch. Tomorrow we’ll finish construction and prepare for some exciting rocket action!
It’s been another fantastic day filled with hands-on learning, teamwork, problem-solving, and plenty of fun. We can’t wait to see what Day 3 brings! 🚁✨🚀

Yesterday was the first day of our Aviation Adventures Camp at Kids in Aviation, and what an incredible start! We have an amazing group of aspiring aviators who spent the day learning all about helicopters.
Campers explored several different types of helicopters, spoke with the Banner Air crew about their aircraft and careers, and got a behind-the-scenes look at the maintenance hangar at MD Helicopters. It was a full day of hands-on learning, discovery, and exciting new experiences.
We can’t wait to see what the rest of the week has in store!
