Adopting my son, who endured significant trauma in utero, was a profound lesson in love. Witnessing his journey from a troubled beginning to becoming the most coherent, kind, and loving 18-year-old has been my greatest practice as a mother. Every day tests patience and compassion, pushing me to love more deeply.
Even through immense trauma, a part of us can detach, recognizing it as an experience the body went through, not the core self. This perspective is key to healing and self-love. True connection begins with understanding and accepting all parts of yourself.
