Role at CGCC: "The Welcome Desk is the first point of contact for enrollment services, providing a warm and supportive environment for new, returning and lifelong learning students. We assist with admissions, registration and additional enrollment needs."

What's your favorite spot on campus?
"Amanda's favorite spot on campus is the court yard in front of the Coyote Cafe because she can listen to and see all the birds on the trees. Kimberley's favorite spot is the dark room and ceramic room where she can explore the art on campus. Hunter’s favorite spot is the Coyote Esports Lab because he loves playing video games and the staff is awesome!"

We will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, June 18, in observance of Juneteenth Freedom Day.

What's your favorite spot on campus?
"Outside the PAC, there is a table-and-chair area facing east toward the library. It’s shaded, and a great place to watch students laugh, walk by and enjoy themselves as they head to their next class. It’s also a great spot to relax and read.
Most of us Academic Advisors work on the south side, but we love the Environmental Technology Center and all the plants on the north end of campus! The beautiful bridge and the ceramics lab are also favorite spots on campus."

CGCC students Tyler Hemus, Alexandra Guttmann, Genet Johnson and Amoy Myers won the Best Poster award at the Spring Research Poster Symposium hosted by ASU’s School of Molecular Sciences on April 29. The event offers students a premier platform to showcase their innovative research and scientific communication skills alongside distinguished scholars and other students. The CGCC students competed against 21 fellow undergraduates to earn the top prize of $1,500.

The Chemistry 298 students developed a short scientific animation focused on sunscreen contaminants in Arizona waterways as part of their undergraduate research project. This work integrates green chemistry principles, environmental impact analysis and science communication, core elements of CGCC’s commitment to high-impact practices and community engagement.

Earlier this spring, the students also presented this project during the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Poster 2026, a global online poster conference hosted on LinkedIn, which brings together chemists from around the world to share research, engage in scientific discussion and network across career stages.
