Good evening. We need your help to improve the reconciliation spending bill. In its current form, the bill disadvantages HBCUs while spending $700 billion on Higher Education. We need you to do the following make it better:
1. Reply to this email to give UNCF expressed permission to use the name and electronic signature of your institution's president on our UNCF presidents' letter. Our endeavor is to have all 37 of our member-institutions on the letter. Please see the attached draft. The deadline for your permission is COB on Wednesday, September 22nd.

3. We need your students, faculty, alumni, alumni associations, and boards of trustees to go to https://uncf.org/hbcuignite immediately. This website will allow us to get letters to Capitol Hill quickly in support of our stance on reconciliation. On the website, click "email your members" at the top, fill out the form, and press send. A letter will be generated to your member of the House and both senators quickly and easily.
Lastly, this is important. Congress wants to pass this bill, and Rep. Alma Adams is standing up for us, but we have to support her, stand up for ourselves, and show the powers that be that we want the bill to advantage us and not disadvantage. If we do not act now, the institutions that always "have" will get more, and we will not even be left with the crumbs. WE NEED EVERYONE'S SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE!
