Whether you’re coming to support our youth, take class, or both, we invite you to spend the afternoon with us celebrating African culture, movement, and community.

✨❤️🪘It’s that time of year again for our Youth Showcase!!!❤️✨
This time it’s extra special as we are fundraising for our trip to 2027 cultural immersion trip to Africa for our youth! The youth have been working hard this year in class with me and Mama Garlana Hill getting ready for this year. The process we have with the CADDC Dance Academy for the youth is to start out with foundational dance technique by my master mentor Baba Danny Diallo Hinds. We build upon this foundation, exposing them to West African rhythms and repertoire as well as other dances from the diaspora.
Midway through the year we take the opportunity to share what they have learned and what they are working towards for our end of year performance during Kwanzaa. This is a process and we are so happy and excited for you to share in our joy and elation along the way. As we close out Mental Health Awareness Month, we remind you that dance is more than exercise. It helps reduce stress, boost mood, improve physical health, and strengthen our connections with one another. There is healing in movement and joy in community, and we invite you to experience both with us this Sunday.
