There are basic principles that you can follow to help create and maintain good diets such as: eating less (do not overindulge, use healthy portion sizes), move more (exercise and participate in physical activity), and eat lots of fruits and vegetables (healthy foods = healthy body)!

A beginner-friendly technique to obtain a healthier diet is to substitute fruits and vegetables for those foods that are higher in calories and have fewer nutrients. For example, if you eat out instead of having fries as a side, get a fruit cup!
