Over 80 seniors showed up to collect their graduation cord and certificate... and enjoy a Kona Ice. You could see the pride of their accomplishment in their smiles, and you could hear their excitement for graduation in conversations.



You didn't have to give up your planning period today, but you did. And the celebration would not have been a success without you.

Yesterday morning we had the honor of celebrating our seniors who’ve decided on their next step after graduation. We are so excited for each of you whether you’ve decided to continue your education at the next level, are joining a branch of the military or have decided to join the workforce. Once a puma, always a puma. 🎓

CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Mrs Vergara. The 2026 9-12 Up and Coming Art Educator of the Year.

This is in recognition of what goes on behind the scenes, when all of the lights have been turned off and the audiences have gone home.

Palisades High School couldn't be more proud of this amazing teacher.

Her approach is rooted in the empowerment of student voice, moving beyond traditional performance to include student-led playwriting and rigorous technical theatre training. By prioritizing creative agency, she has not only fostered a culture of authentic collaboration but also led the program to its very first state competitions. Her "student-first" philosophy is evident in every production; she consistently places the growth and needs of her pupils above her own professional convenience" - from the CMS Director of Arts Education

We'd like to wish a HUGE congratulations to Abi R on being recognized as a "Top 6" Stage Manager Finalist at the Blumey Awards.

Abi's leadership and organizational skills are truly next level—she keeps everything running smoothly no matter how hectic things get. The way Abi handles challenges with such incredible problem-solving and calm, as well as utilizing thoughtful communication and skilled conflict management is seriously inspiring.

However, beyond all that talent, what really stands out is her character. Abi is such a supportive, positive light to everyone around her, always lifting others up and making every production (and every person!) better just by being there.

Abi is Top Six overall (out of about 70 participating schools), and in the Top Three of her tier! Many schools participate in the Blumey Awards for years and years and never win a Top Six award. This is only our second year, and we have two Top Six finalists from Palisades High School in Abi & Dallin. This is such an incredible honor & we couldn't be prouder!
Abi also gets to stage manage the actual Blumenthal awards! She will work with professional stage managers, and "call the show" in the Belk Theatre! What a fantastic experience for this incredible, well-deserved, student.
Final awards will be announced at the May 17th Blumenthal Awards at the Belk Theatre.
