One of the most common challenges we hear from parents who lack leadership is the struggle of keeping their children engaged in activities when they say they “don’t want to” anymore.

The reality is that children rarely have the discipline or long-term vision to make these decisions on their own. Left to their own devices, they’ll often choose cell phones, video games, or whatever feels like the easy way out.

That’s why the role of a parent is so important. It’s not just about giving children choices; it’s about guiding them, instilling values, and teaching them that perseverance matters.

Quitting at the first sign of discomfort sends the message that avoidance is acceptable. This pattern is likely to repeat itself in various settings, including school, relationships, work, and adulthood.

Jiu-Jitsu training provides something far more valuable than entertainment. On the mat, children learn discipline, respect, resilience, and how to handle both victories and setbacks, life skills no device or video game can provide.

Being the leader of your home means standing firm on your values and showing your children that commitment and effort are non-negotiable.

Education isn’t about catering to what a child wants in the moment, but about giving them what they need to grow into the person they aspire to become.

Character is built through consistent effort. In Jiu-Jitsu, kids don’t just learn to defend themselves; they learn how to win in life.

This isn’t about forcing them into an activity; it’s about empowering them with the mindset, strength, and values that will prepare them for the future.

We will send out text and email, we will be closed September 1st for Labor Day. Please plan accordingly and enjoy that time with family!

We will be closed for Summer Break Monday August 4th and Wednesday 6th. We usually have small classes this time of year due to last minute vacations before school starts back, so we use it to give our staff a break too.

We are looking forward to having a great school year with our kids. Enjoy the last few days off until we get back to a consistent schedule again!
