Cocoa is rich in flavonoids, which are believed to have antioxidant properties and can contribute to cardiovascular health. Itβs also a source of various minerals such as iron, magnesium, and zinc. However, itβs important to note that many cocoa products contain added sugars and fats, which can offset some of the health benefits.
Like stated above cocoa is rich in antioxidants and has potential health benefits, including improving blood flow, lowering blood pressure, and potentially reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke. The dark chocolate made from high-cocoa-content chocolate liquor is especially noted for these benefits, although moderation is key due to its calorie content.
