Holly (Ivanoff) Graham '96 painted this beautiful Hawk painting for her former art teacher, Richard Fletcher '85, in celebration of his remarkable 35 years of service to Charlotte Latin. Full circle moments like these are what make this community so special. 💙

Holly’s words:
"Art class was always my favorite time of the school day. Not just because I loved making art, but because it was a place without pressure or constraints. Everyone’s mood shifted when we got to go to art class.

Richard Fletcher was my art teacher many years ago, and he has now taught my children. It was such a privilege to paint our school’s mascot in recognition of his 35 years of service to CLS. It was a full circle moment that I was honored to be a part of!

Another full circle moment - I helped chair the event this year, and it is a tradition that my mom started years ago. It was a special surprise to see her honored in the program. ❤️"

Hawks Go Global! 🌍

Students on Latin’s Northern Europe: Innovation in Context travel program connected with Anne Gray Stedman ‘19, who is pursuing graduate studies in Environment and Development at the University of Copenhagen while working as an Assistant Climate and Sustainability Consultant.

As these Hawks explore innovation, design, and sustainability across Denmark, Sweden, and Germany, Anne Gray offered a firsthand look at how those ideas translate into real-world impact. We love seeing Hawks together, wherever they are in the world!

May was a big month for our '22 Hawks! 🎓

Kyleigh Panther '22 and Maddie Shannon '22 graduated from Wake Forest University last month, proving that Hawks fly together long after leaving 9502! 🦅

Congratulations to the entire Class of 2022 on your college graduations — we're excited to see what comes next!

Graham Blanton ’25 and Charlie Shamblin ’25 checked in from Rocky Mountain National Park after hiking 28 miles in three days and spotting elk, moose, deer, groundhogs, and more along the way. They connected with their former English teacher Richard Harris through Walt Whitman-inspired barbaric yawps, with Mount Meeker (13,900 ft.) and Copeland Mountain (13,200 ft.) as their backdrop.

Hawks from across the decades returned to campus last week for a special night for the Latin football community. 🏈🦅

After watching spring practice, alumni joined players and coaches for dinner and conversation before hearing from a panel of former football Hawks: John Patten ’83, Mark Paschal ’05, Hunter Sheridan ’16, and Gib Smith ’86, moderated by Marcus Mills ’01. Through stories and advice, panelists shared lessons on leadership, teamwork, and the power of relationships. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event!
