Pumpkin Patch Fun!

The Village had a wonderful time enjoying the fresh air today at Carrigan Farms! 🍂 Our little explorers used their senses to take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the season — and even got to pick a pumpkin and ride on a tractor! 🚜

A special thank you to all the amazing parents who took time out of their busy workdays to share this special experience with their little ones. Your presence made it even more memorable! 💛

🍂 Happy October from The Village! 🍂

This month is all about fall fun and new adventures! Our Village kids are making memories on seasonal trips, enjoying time outdoors, and bringing the magic of autumn into their learning. From pumpkins to playful costumes, October is full of excitement! ✨

🍁 Don’t forget: cozy layers are perfect for cool mornings, comfy shoes help on our adventures, and a favorite snack and water bottle always come in handy. Costumes should be simple, safe, and easy to remove so children can play and learn with ease.

What a month it has been! Our Village kids have been busy learning, exploring, and growing together. 💛

🌟 Field Trip Fun at Johnson C. Smith University! 🌟

Today our Village kids enjoyed a special outing to Johnson C. Smith University for Story Time and the Scholastic Book Fair 📚. It was such a joy to see the children light up while listening to stories and picking out their very own books to take home!

A heartfelt thank you goes to Village parent and librarian, Mrs. Reshika Barfield, for coordinating this wonderful opportunity. Your time and dedication gave our little ones a chance to learn, explore, and grow their love of reading. ❤️

We are grateful for moments like these where our Village truly comes together!

Important Announcement from It Takes a Village Childcare

We will be closed August 18–22 for our annual summer rest.
Our doors will re-open Monday, August 25th as we kick off an exciting new school year! 🍎✨

Thank you for your understanding — we can’t wait to welcome our Village Family back, refreshed and ready to learn!

CACFP Update + Why It Matters!!!

Reimbursement Update for Childcare Providers

The 2025–2026 CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) reimbursement rates were just released, and while we’re thankful for continued support of healthy meals in early childhood programs, the reality is:

💸 It still doesn’t cover the full cost of feeding growing little learners.

As a licensed in-home provider, we serve daily breakfast, lunch, and snacks through love, planning, and fresh ingredients — and while CACFP helps, we often have to stretch far beyond what’s reimbursed.

This is why fundraisers like our upcoming campaign are so important. They help us fill the gap — so we can continue nourishing children’s minds and bellies.
