The monarchs are officially on their way π¦ Our Upper Elementary students spent the past few weeks caring for, learning about and observing these butterflies before releasing them last week!

Butterfly, fly away πΆ! Our Childrenβs House students had a front-row seat to a wonderful transformation; watching tiny caterpillars grow, form their chrysalises, and emerge as beautiful painted lady butterflies. Some students even got to witness the moment the butterflies broke free from their chrysalises! πππ¦

Our Upper Elementary students visited the Catawba Riverkeeper, where they learned about the Catawba River Basin and the types of waste commonly found in its waterways. They then put their learning into action by helping clean up litter along the riverbanks and in the river itself! ππ§π

Our elementary students were in for a treat last Friday! A special visitor demonstrated a variety of rhythmic instruments and walked students through how a drum is assembled. Itβs safe to say the mini music lesson was a hit! π₯π

Our homemade ice cream tutorial, in reverse! Brought to you by Children's House and made possible through our Montessori in Bloom fundraiser π¦πΈ
To make our sweet treat, we used ice cream salt, heavy whipping cream, whole milk, half and half, vanilla extract, white sugar, and just a pinch of salt. For toppings, we chose dark chocolate fudge, sprinkles, and fresh strawberries, all brought together with our manual ice cream maker.
And the most important ingredients of all: lots of smiles and happy hands πβ¨
