Congratulations to our S.A.I.L. eighth graders! We celebrate all of your accomplishments at South Academy of International Languages and look forward to seeing what you achieve as you begin your high school journey. We will miss you and wish you all the best in the years ahead!

Back in January, our German Immersion students at South Academy of International Languages made a video welcoming the German National Soccer Team to their World Cup HQ at Winston-Salem University. The team saw it and loved it. While they couldn’t come to SAIL, they did send us 50 tickets to see them at an Open Training session. Our PTSO helped us realize our dream of sending as many students as possible and facilitated a bus for us. We arrived in style and were recognized by name by the President of the Deutsche Fußball-Bund , thanking us for our video. The students gave interviews to major German News channels and saw their heroes in action, even getting a few autographs. Joshua Kimmich couldn’t believe that all of our students could speak German! We hope that everyone who joined learned about working hard, dreaming big, and being ready when a little luck comes your way.

Our German team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the PTSO for seeing our vision, our parents for trusting us, our students for representing our school well, and of course the German National Team for their generosity with their time. We are all grateful.

🎨 Congratulations to S.A.I.L. third-grade student Eliseo V.! 🎨

We are proud to share that Eliseo was recognized at tonight’s Board of Education meeting as one of only ten third-grade students district-wide selected in the Crown Collection K–12 Arts Competition.

His award-winning artwork is currently on display at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center, where he was honored for this outstanding achievement.
