An Anami six-year-old student’s artwork gift to the school, commemorating its 40th birthday!
Established Montessori school serving children ages 3-12. Recognized by AMI and enjoying its 40th year! This child is our best hope for the future.
As a scientist, Maria Montessori discovered something surprising: When children are active participants, when their choices are respected and guided, and when responsibility is expected and nurtured, a new child emerges. This child’s characteristics are concentration, self-discipline, love of learning, and a respect for others and the world. Share the hope. Experience the surprise. Observe a class, attend an open house. Visit Anami Montessori School today.

Anami’s extended day and elementary children recently enjoyed a presentation about Ramadan by one of our families from Pakistan. A children’s book on the holiday was read, and their child handed out cards she’d made as well as a snack of dates. Our children enjoyed making colorful lanterns, representing light, peace, and the Eid Festival.
Anami is fortunate to have such wonderful cultural diversity in our school population. Our children grow up seeing a true representation of the world!

Anami's Primary children (ages 3-6) enjoyed a "Holi" celebration. It is a Hindu festival celebrating the start of spring, the season of hope and new beginnings; also called the " Festival of Colors".

“Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future.”

Handmade with love, served with care.
Our Valentine’s Tea Party is a sweet tradition where children create their own crafts as gifts for their tea party partner. The joy on their faces during the exchange is priceless.
Our elementary students lovingly step into the role of hosts, serving tea to their primary friends — building leadership, grace, and community across ages.
Valentine’s Day becomes more than a celebration… it becomes a beautiful memory of kindness, connection, and giving from the heart.

Ice under our feet, laughter all around.
During recess, the children played together on real ice—building, exploring, and problem-solving as a group. Inside the classroom, they were creating Ice Age dioramas. This beautiful overlap turned learning into lived experience.
In moments like these, children naturally discover why humans have always lived in groups: to meet material needs like shelter and warmth, and spiritual needs like connection, cooperation, and joy.

Our Primary children recently enjoyed two presentations by Anami parents—one on Native Americans by a member of the Lumbee tribe, and the other on the country of Panama by a mother native to that country. Our children learned much and thoroughly enjoyed both!
