Last week was an exciting week for three of our grade levels! 4th grade took a field trip to the North Carolina Zoo, 3rd grade presented their wax museum projects, and Kindergarten earned Pajamas and Popsicles with Blaze for winning week #1 of our Tip the Scales fundraiser!!!

Career Week!

Today, our students dressed up as what they want to be when they grow up!

Black Art History Month!

Next week will have our “Career Week” Spirit Days! Please see below for the themed days!

Also, we are still in need of about 20 volunteers for our Career Fair on March 6 from 8:00–10:30 AM. If you’re able to volunteer please fill out the google sign-up sheet below. We truly appreciate your help in making this a successful experience for our students!

Meet our newest Dilworth Dragon - “Monroe” - first grade’s new class pet in California!

“Thanks to your Tip the Scales donations, first grade was able to give a small donation to Charlie's Acres in exchange for adopting a class pet! Our class pet, Monroe, is an Albino Call Duck that was abandoned by her family due to her small size. Charlie's Acres, a farm animal sanctuary in California, rescued her at just a few days old from the pond where she was abandoned. Now she lives a beautiful life among many of her bird friends in her Charlie's Acres aviary. Charlie's Acres video calls us four times throughout the second semester when our literacy modules are centered around birds. They answer our many questions and teach us about how to be advocates for birds!”

We need your help in making our annual career day possible! We only have 30 volunteers and need at least 70 volunteers to make this a success!

We would like to invite you to participate in the Dilworth Elementary Career Fair on March 6 from 8:00–10:30 AM.

You can share your career in one of two ways: record a short video about your job ahead of time or join us in person to present during the event. We are especially in need of volunteers to make the morning run smoothly — even a prerecorded video would be a big help.

Congrats to Ms. Weathers for being named our 25-26 Teacher of the Year, and to Ms. Hall for being named our 25-26 Teacher Assistant of the Year!

Ms. Weathers and Ms. Hall go above and beyond for our students, staff, and school each and every day! We are so grateful to have both of them as a part of our Dilworth family! Dilworth and our Dragons are truly blessed!
