Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Berryhill School Bond Project Update Meeting! Community members had the opportunity to view renderings and plans presented by DLR Group, ask questions, and learn more about the future new Berryhill School, which is expected to open in August 2028. We appreciate your engagement and support as we continue investing in our students and community.

At Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, our Construction Department team knows that safety is more than a requirement at our bond project sites—it’s a core value. During National Safety Month and every day of the year, we promote a culture where safety conversations matter and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is essential to protecting everyone on site.

Required PPE includes ANSI Z87-approved safety glasses, task-specific rated gloves, shirts with at least a ¼-inch sleeve, high-visibility safety vests, and work boots with hard soles, leather uppers, and ankle coverage. By following these standards and prioritizing safe work practices, we help ensure that every worker returns home safely while building exceptional learning environments for our students and community.

A new era is taking shape at North Mecklenburg High School. These latest drone views show major progress on the future stadium, which is expected to be completed by late fall of the 2026–27 school year. The project will include new grandstands and bleachers, athletic turf, upgraded facilities, ticket booths, restrooms, a field house, and more. The new school building remains on track to open in 2028, with additional softball and baseball fields planned after the existing school is removed.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools included in the 2023 Bond are continuing to move forward through planning, design, and construction phases. Stay informed with the latest project updates and see what’s next for our schools and the community.

Exciting transformations are coming to J.T. Williams Secondary Montessori (fka Marie G. Davis Montessori Upfit)! New carpet in the media center is already making the space look amazing, with even more upgrades on the way thanks to the 2023 Bond. From outdoor classrooms and greenhouse learning spaces to upgraded Montessori and theater arts rooms, this campus is transforming for the 2026–27 school year.
